March Update
If you have visited previously you will have noticed a lack of posts here in the blog. That is due to operator error..!
I lost all the posts in a site update. I'm not going to recreate them. I'll start fresh for the year.
Currently I am making my way through a list of jobs that seems to grow even as I complete those on the list… I am also taking advantage of a friends house and her sewing machine to make some basic sail covers. The covers will hopefully be simple enough to take off and put on after each days sailing, therefore prolonging the life of my sails.
I am due to start building a new tender also. I did a deal with a local boat restoration project for all the materials to construct a small pram style tender that will better fit on deck during longer passages. The deal I made was a direct exchange for my current aluminium Ribeye tender that is too big and awkward to fit on deck easily. I'm aiming for a complete build within seven days of effort beginning Thurs 12/3.
Fortunately I also have use of a friends car until almost the end of the month while he is away working, so that aids in getting to and fro the boatyard where I will build the tender.
I am quickly approaching my Get-Away date of mid-April. By then I need to have completed the jobs list, sail covers, tender and provisioned Dawn for an extended off-grid existence (basically enough of everything for the next three months after departure from plymouth.
