Dawn

I have now purchased Dawn. She is a 35ft LOD, 48ft over spars Gaff Yawl. Built in 1905 in Falmouth, England at the yard of W. E Thomas. She is influenced by the Humber Yawls and the designer Albert Strange. Canoe stern, cutter rigged.

Dawn is currently in a marina on the Isle of Wight and I’ll continue to keep her here until mid/late September before leaving for the journey North. Julian the, now, previous owner and myself will get her back into commision next week or two. Then it will be short hops one way or the otherway around the coastline of the UK while I learn how she handles etc.

dawn.jpg There is a lot to organise and it seems overwhelming at times. Everything I have left, not sold, given away or dumped is in storage here in Lancashire. As yet I am not sure how much actual space I wil really have on board, and I may have to still find new homes for even more of my belongings…

I’d say slow & steady, but there is a deadline for leaving, both financially and safety.

Definately more to come.
